Mrs. Biden in hospital and good spirits...

GREENVILLE, Del. — Vice President Joe Biden's 91-year-old mother has been hospitalized after a fall at her Delaware home.

Biden's spokeswoman, Elizabeth Alexander, says in a statement that Catherine Eugenia "Jean" Biden was admitted Sunday to the University of Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia and "is currently receiving treatment and is in good spirits."

Alexander did not immediately return messages seeking details about Biden's condition.

A hospital spokeswoman confirms that Biden's mother was admitted Sunday, but said she is not authorized to release any further information.

Jean Biden was on stage with her son at President Barack Obama's election night rally in Chicago. She lives in a guesthouse at Biden's home in Greenville, a suburb of Wilmington.

and had lyme disease not to recently. But Jean Biden seems very tough and strong.

I heard she had a hip replacement.

My dad had one at age 87.
The anesthesia does strange things to people of that age. About a month later a nurse warned me and my brother that my dad probably wouldn't make it past 6 months, that they saw alot of that. Their bodies can't take the shock to their system. She was right :(

I hope and pray Jean will be okay. She seems like such a strong woman.
I hope she will be the exception.
