I started a simple little thread about the movie "Battle in Seattle" and now its "flaming". I'd love to have heard her take on it.

She was probably one of the nicest people I have met, even tho I never really met her.

Thanks for the movie rec. I'm always looking for movies & I love doumentaries. "The Corporation" had a few scenes of the Seattle/WTO. I'm headed over the Netflix right now. :)

I never expected the thread to get so HOT, but it was very informative.

The movie is actually a drama based on real events. I love The Corporation - watched it twice.

4. I'm SO staying out of that conversation!

My brother lived in downtown Seattle during the WTO Riots - he'd call us from his balcony to have us listen to the helicopters outside. He said the air was acrid w/tear gas and the smell of burning rubber.

6. It really sparked a lot of emotions

It was interesting to hear from people who had been there though, even though the stories varied a lot. One of the posters was a cop in Seattle, so that started quite a "debate" that I wasn't going to get involved in.

Interesting timing with the demonstrations going on in Europe.

Yes, I miss Gateley and a lot of others that have drifted away. With Gateley, I'm more concerned than anything else.
