I can't take it....I mean I know it's suppose to be funny.... |
|
SNL's opening skit was a spoof on Joe.... Ok, I'll admit it - it was kinda funny, but still...that's my cupcake!
Anybody else see it?

1. didn't see it; just heard Gov. Paterson on a radio interview |
|
being asked about SNL's portrayal of him. He talked about how he doesn't care personally but it's a problem for SNL to make fun of people with disabilities. Also said he'd asked Sarah Palin to go back on because they seemed to be out of material ;-)

3. It's like they took the worst traits of Joe and are using that for his character. |
|
That is usually what's is done in a satire....as someone reminded me after telling me "Don't be so sensitive".
What they did to Patterson was ugly. And cruel. imho.

It isn't anything like Joe. It would be funnier, if they captured Joe's personality better. SNL only has a few funny moments per show anymore. I generally fastforward through most of it.

5. Yeah...watched it w/Mr. Debi |
|
we both kind of cringed.
Mr. Debi said the best thing JRB can do is chuckle w/it - and he will.
If that's the worst they can come up with, he must be doing a wonderful job!

If it had been Dan Quayle, then it might haven relevant, but it didn't reflect reality at all. Now if they'd made fun of Karl Rove, making fun of Joe, THAT would have worked.
