Thank god Biden is in this administration.
Everyone seems to want to send more troops to Afghanistan - but Joe.
I heard that he is butting heads with Hillary on this one.

I am so glad Biden is there to slow down the process and to make people in this administration THINK about the
consequences of their actions. I mean - why send in more troops if Al Queda is just going to move into Pakistan?

I just brought this up because I have msnbc on in the background and they keep mentioning that Biden is on the other side of this
debate as Obama's security team meets this morning.

oh that smile :)

1. And Joe and Hillary will be able to butt heads -- HARD because they're both
stubborn -- without it affecting either their personal OR professional relationship IMO. I'm hoping Obama listens to Joe more on this one -- he DOES have more experience in this area. Obama is wise to just step back and really study it before making a decision either way.

2. What I would give to be a fly in that room today.
You realize that Joe is also taking on the Generals?
I hope Joe is getting support somewhere.

4. I hope he does. I just hope there is another voice in that room that stands with him.

5. Agree -- It would be nice if he doesn't have to wage this fight alone.
Maybe Joe can get some support from some of the Generals (although that's kind of going against who they are..)

Joe can be VERY convincing -- didn't he get the funding for the MWRAPS pretty much on his own?

6. I'm quite sure Joe has some generals with him on this one
He has had a great relationship with the military for a long time.

7. I *think* Holbrooke is on the same page as Joe. I wonder if he is at that
meeting.

9. I think that Frank Rich piece elleng posted referred to Holbrooke
and we know from SFRC hearings and history that he and Biden tend to be on the same page. Some time recently I heard Kerry about to be interviewed and I think his position is the same as Biden's. So I hope Biden, Kerry, and Holbrooke can keep the focus on Al Qaeda in Pakistan.

10. I think Obama's going to listen to reason. Which Means Joe, et al.
I don't understand what those who are pushing further involvement possibly think can be accomplished. There's just no end to it -- why stay??
