1. That was a great article! |

I was surprised by Emanuel's comments. "He's been asking, 'What are the trade-offs here?'" says Emanuel.
snip...
"Early on in the administration everyone thinks you can do everything everywhere. He was the one saying you need to make choices—choices within the health-care system and choices between that and other initiatives. By stating the uncomfortable—or stating the obvious if you've spent time in Congress—he helped people see with better clarity what the choices were, and the consequences of those choices."
I'm not sure why, but I get the feeling that Biden isn't exactly Emanuel's cup of tea. I'm glad he recognizes the value Biden brings to the administration.
I also liked that Biden called Obama out on dissing him in public. Good for him! It sounds like they have a good working relationship.
Thanks for posting!

2. I see what you mean about Biden/Emanuel's cup of tea -- |
|
but I'm thinking that the more they get to really know Joe, the more they'll really appreciate and respect him. How could they not? He's far smarter and more savvy than I'm sure they expected.
And I'd like to take those snarfing Obama staffers and toss 'em out the windows! How DARE they!?!? And I'm so with you -- so proud of Joe for calling O out on the public slights.
This story was actually linked to on the front page of MSNBC.com -- hope lots of people saw it. I may have to pick up a copy of Newsweek!

5. That was an excellent indepth article about Joe - and it's about time! |
|
I think the msm is paying a little closer attention to Biden now that they know he is a big part of the reason why Obama is being a YesMan to McCrystal. I keep hearing little comments on the news from Rep and Dem pundits alike - they all want to know what the Biden strategy is.
And I have to say that I too was THRILLED to hear that Biden told Obama to back off in so many words. I'll try and be better but I need you to do the same - woohoo - Joe Biden - I love ya!

7. I've used Eurobabe's idea of an egg timer. |

I can waste 2-3 hours on DU & not even realize that much time has passed! Well, it's not entirely wasted, but there are lots of threads I'll read that don't really offer much. With the timer on, I find I'm much more selective. I'll go to the LBN first, then the Greatest & then the Tens.
Oh, & JBSG, of course! This is my virtual home, where I always feel comfortable. :grouphug:
