Watched O and Joe at a FL town meeting earlier (CNN aired the entire thing; |
|
MSNBC just had split screen with the video, but had their commentators hashing over the SOTU and other topics - :grr:)
O had Joe speak on the Middle Class project that he's leading (Joe was great, as always) and after Joe sat back down, O said "by the way, I want to point out that this is a huge undertaking that Joe is in charge of, and there has not been a whisper of any impropriety or questionable actions. Every contractor, every cent, every step is posted right there on the web site - full transparency and disclosure". I paraphrased, that was the gist of it. Very proud of Joe and appreciative that O pointed that out. I honestly believe if it were up to Joe, the goings-on in DC would be as transparent as O indicated they would be, and -- maybe more importantly -- if they couldn't be, Joe would EXPLAIN to us WHY.
Love him!
And yes, he's been reined in, but he's handled it well - can't be easy after being your own boss for so many years. Class act, that Joe.

1. Haha, I just came in here to post the same thing. I loved Joe (he |
|
was superb) talking about the hours and miles he's ridden Amtrak, etc. Not to be missed. Joe and POTUS are a great team and this Town Hall really brought it out in both of them. I think they were both relieved to be the he@@ out of DC to be honest. Very relaxed...

6. Hi! They are a great team. Just this minute Rachel is running (in the background |
|
while talking to Menendez) clip showing Obama coming out after Joe introduced him, hugging, laughing. So nice!
I bet Obama now is SO happy with his choice of Joe -- he's truly got O's -- and our -- backs.

I think it is so cool that they went to Florida together and very unusual. They are starting to look like a real team. I loved watching Joe during the SOTU, so genuinely supportive. Of course, I always love watching Joe!!!

5. I'm watching Rachel now and she's showing the clip of Obama saying how we |
|
ALL hated bailing out the banks -- Joe's behind him laughing, looking like he's REALLY enjoying himself!
Last night on the "official SOTU" threads here, there were more than a couple of positive Biden posts -- very nice to see!

7. Joe was really having a great time |
|
I haven't seen him smile so much in a long time. Of course, my daughter and I were melting whenever he smiled!

4. I watched it on CSpan...I was watching Msnbc when Biden was at the podium |
|
and they didn't let us listen....so I turned on cSpan and they showed the whole thing - ALL of Joe ALL of Obama - no commercials...
They both were wonderful. Obama was treated like a ROCK STAR - it was just like he was on the campaign trail.

9. Charlie Crist did meet (albeit very shortly) with POTUS when they |
|
arrived. If Charlie doesn't beat Jeb's boy Rubio, I have a far-out feeling Charlie could turn Dem. As a Floridian I would have to say he is a fav of mine. He votes and acts sensibly (most of the time) and is fighting the Bush machine. This should be interesting. Joe also started laughing when POTUS mentioned that the bank bailouts were a lot like having root canal. Having had one back in the day I can relate. If you didn't see it C-SPAN has it in its entirety..

10. How interesting, your sense about Charlie. From what you say, sounds like |
|
somebody we could use. (I just immediately don't like him because he's a Republican. Isn't that awful? That's what the Boehner Brigade has done to me.)
I promise to look at him through new eyes.
Isn't he having trouble with this upcoming election? If I'm remembering that correctly, why do you think is the reason?

11. Hi gateley, Yes, Charlie is your old-style Repub, the kind my dad |
|
used to be. Common sense and what ever is good for the people. Don't get me wrong, Charlie is after whatever is good for Charlie but in the meantime he governs as smart as he can. The fact that he almost always went against Jeb was what made me look at him closer. Other DUrs from northern Florida may have a different view but there's just something I like about him. The repubs were furious with him for wanting to meet with Obama. He did it anyway, does not march in lockstep. Anyone who defies Jeb is fine in my book no matter the R or D after his name...

15. I always thought of Crist as more moderate |
|
but I don't trust him. After watching the documentary "Outrage", I got the feeling that the man will do or say anything to further his political career. Still he's a lot better than a Tea Party candidate.

16. Hmmm... well if you're correct in your assessment that he'll do or |
|
say anything to further his political career, maybe his recent meeting with Obama is an indication that the Repubs are really nervous about their future. Good.

17. Anything that undermines the republican party |
|
right now is a good thing, though I personally don't wish Crist any great success in politics. I am so tired of politicians who will do or say anything to gain power. I've gotten the impression that Crist has thrown a lot of people under the bus to further his career. If you get a chance, watch "Outrage". Unbelievable!
