5. Pretty good

Better than last time and now I can afford my meds, which is a real plus. The drug companies are doubling and tripling the prices on many medications knowing the Medicare Part D can't negotiate the prices. They aren't even being subtle about the grand ripoff. It is absolutely bizarre.

6. I remember a patient of my dad's saying that he couldn't understand

why my dad spent so much time with the pharmaceutical reps. Well, he kept badgering them for more samples which he would give to his patients. And he'd say, if you run out, let me know. He had stock in pharmaceutical companies but he thought the markup (even back then!) was outrageous and unfair.

I've yet to find a doctor who has given me samples instead of sending me out with a scrip in hand. Of course, they (reps) had a lot more leeway and less regulation back then, so maybe that's why doctors today aren't sitting on stockpiles of the stuff.

And yes, I'm just gobsmacked that the pharma companies (and banks, and credit card companies) make no pretense about what they're doing. It is SO despicable!
