I just ran into an old customer of mine from when I worked at the bank. I asked her if she still banked there - she said yeah, but was going to leave soon. I told her I was glad when I left, I didn't like their policies. and she said "Thanks to Obama they aren't lending anymore". I just looked at her and said - what? this was going on before Obama - he is making it better. And she said "No - he's made it alot worse". I just looked at her and decided she wasn't worth it and said Bye.
I cannot believe people actually think that. AND it just reaffirmed how happy I am no longer having to wait on people like her.
I think the hardest thing I ever had to do while working at the bank was making out a cashiers check for a long time customer that was payable to the RNC during the 2004 campaign. I never felt the same way about that customer after that.
So glad to be out of there for soooo many reasons.
Thank you for letting me vent.

1. It's suffocating, isn't it? I honestly feel like I can't breathe when people say |
|
things that are so blatantly WRONG.
You did the right thing by bidding her adieu -- reason and logic and facts don't change the minds of people like that.
That's funny (in a non-funny kind of way) about making out the RNC cashiers check.

2. You're right - suffocating is a great way to describe it when you have |
|
to deal with people like that....and it definitely describes what I was going thru making out that check to the RNC...it's amazing I didn't pass out while I had to type those letters.

5. I've come to realize that people will believe |
|
what they want. I've seen so many indications of the Stimulus Plan that probably are missed by the average person. There are so many tax breaks for 2009 that are because of the Stimulus Plan that are benefiting so many moderate to low income people and they won't even notice. How sad that they can't see how much good this plan has done for so many. The 65% reduction in Cobra payments (my daughter benefited from that one) is just one of many. People who remodified their mortgages that reduced their principle do not have to claim that on their taxes. For many this can be tens of thousands of dollars. Such people will just curse the government, not realizing the unprecedented financial relief they've received because of the programs Obama has inclemented.
Your former customer would not have seen the positive in anything. That is her mindset and it wouldn't matter who was in office. People who cannot count their blessings are to be pitied. They'll never be happy.

6. And the next time the repubs are in the majority |
|
& the country goes further into the toilet, it will still be the dems fault. :eyes: There's no getting through to people like this. Everything will always be someone else's fault, whether it's in their personal life or politically, it's never their fault. My mother was this way. I honestly think that's why she turned so right wing - she didn't want to believe that some of her misfortune was due to her own bad decisions. For all their talk about personal responsibility, it never applies to them or those they associate with.
