Did you guys see Obama's statement (re: small biz, tax cuts) from the Rose Garden |
|
just now?
I was laughing because afterward the reporters started asking questions which he wasn't taking, and I SWEAR that Joe had a look on his face that he would have loved to have answered them! Obama put his hand on Joe's shoulder and they headed back into the WH.
I don't think I've EVER seen Joe not take questions -- have you? It's just not in his nature.

1. Aw, that must have been rough for Joe |
|
He has really learned to bite his tongue the last couple of years and I know it is a real challenge.

2. I think it was Steely who posted on that article thread that Joe is a real |
|
team player. That has got to be so hard for someone who was essentially the leader of the team for this entire life.
Obama was wise to ask him to be VP, and after some initial uncomfortable moments, I bet he's thankful every day that he did.

3. I picked that up from Joe's book |
|
He knows how to defer to the president and has great respect for the office. The Atlantic article said that Obama was very confident with his choice for VP and has had no regrets.
It shows a lot of character for Joe to take a secondary role after having been a leader for so long.

4. Agree -- well put about "a lot of character". Confidence in himself and sincerely |
|
wanting to be in public service.
Someone had posted that they were unhappy w/Biden saying such nice things about the Bush administration and I responded that Joe had told Rumsfeld and Cheney that he'd fire them if he could, but I thought he would NEVER have said that to Bush out of respect for the office.

In his position, Joe had to say the things he said about Bush. It isn't appropriate for one administration to bash the previous one. There is a certain decorum that is expected of the White House and if they don't live up to it, they will never live it down. Of course, we know what they are really thinking!

6. I remember Candidate Biden calling Cheney the worst VP in our country's history. |
|
I'm sure that's been wiped from YouTube! :7

7. Oh, yes I'm quite it is |

After Joe was chosen for VP, lots of stuff was cleaned off the Internet. I remember looking for some of Joe's speeches and they were gone.
