Thought you guys would get a kick out of this.... |

I just signed a petition from Democracy in Action that asks Joe to stand up for Medicare, etc. It offered a spot to write a personal message, so I added this:
Dear VP Biden, Whenever I think of you, I can't help but think of you as Joe. You see I've been a fan of yours for many years, and during the primaries was one of a group of avid supporters on the website, Democratic Underground, who praised your strengths, and fought off anyone who put you down. I was delighted when Pres. Obama chose you as his running mate, and often used this fact when I canvassed neighborhoods during the election. You have always stood up for the middle class, the working poor, and those who are even less fortunate. So to me, you have always been Joe, the guy who has my back, and has the strength and wisdom to protect it. I know you won't let me down now. Darcie Livingston (one of the original Bidenites!)
I know they never get to read these little extras, but I bet he'd like it. I think it would at least make him smile.

I'm sure he could use a positive message. I wouldn't want to be in charge of that group. For someone like Biden who is compassionate about his fellow man, it's got to be painful to listen to the ideas of those that could give a hoot about anyone who isn't in the upper class or donates money to their campaigns.
Thanks for the compliment!

I'd like to believe that maybe he saw your note. We can always dream.
