The teacher's association of the northern Colombian Cordoba department will file a complaint before the International Criminal Court (ICC) after the third murder of a teacher this year.
According to teacher's association ADEMACOR, the 22-year-old Dionis Sierra was murdered by two assassins in the municipality of La Apartada.
Sierra was killed when he momentarily left Teacher's Day celebrations to receive a phone call, when he was shot three times by waiting gunmen, dying instantly.

Ayala announced that he will make a complaint before the ICC about the continued killings, indicating that the high level of impunity provides no deterrent. "Our only weapons are knowledge and books," he said.
