Colombian police crossed the border into Venezuela for the first time in an important act for relations between the two countries.
Mounted Colombian police crossed the Simon Bolivar bridge between the two countries in an "atmosphere of brotherhood and sisterhood," reported Caracol Radio.
The act comes as authorities combat various forms of criminal activities along the border of the two countries.
Cucuta's Metropolitan police commander Alvaro Pico Malaver outlines the process and stated that there would be continuing work between the countries in order to deal with crimes such as drug trafficking, organized crime and gangs in the region.
