"Tort reform is the answer" according to doc "friend" on Facebook |
|
So I post stuff about single-payer almost daily for a my status on FB. An anesthesiologist "friend" of mine keeps telling me that everything about ANY reform is bunk. His latest is that Tort reform is the answer to our health care reform problem. A friend of mine actually is a lawyer and works in insurance and has facts and figures that she has been arguing with him on.
I'd like to say that tort reform might help him and his hospital, but won't do squat for the millions with no or poor insurance. Hospitals and health care organizations will NOT pass on the savings to us. They'll just pocket the profits.
Any thoughts?

1. I thought the righties were calling it "lawsuit abuse" these days |
|
All these poor people actually having some sort of recourse when their doctor accidentally saws the wrong leg off between rounds of golf. It's a national disgrace!

2. Outlawing insurance participation in health care might help but I don't agree with your |
|
friend about tort reform solving all our health care problems.
