Sweden supposedly has a great health care system. Anyone know the specifics? |
|
Edited on Wed Jun-10-09 01:37 AM by Triana
Friend of mine thinks the US ought to look at theirs. Says Canada's is running out of money and Harper is a GWB type.
Anyone know more about Canada's woes or Sweden's system?

1. While I don't know the answer to your question, I think it is worthwhile noting that |
|
in neither of those two countries do the people want to throw out their health care system and adopt ours. The same for all of the other industrialized countries in the rest of the world. I tried to argue this point with my accountant and he just said "They just don't know enough about our system."

4. Thanks! I was out of time and couldn't look it up right then. |
|
Not that I'll hold my breath waiting for our gov't to adapt anything Sweden does. Heck, we can't even get them to have a public option - at all - hardly! Pffft!
But - I still want to know what works (or where to move - ha!)

6. Actually, France is supposed to have the best system from what I read. |
|
I would be very happy with Canada's system as most Canadians are. All the BS you read about Canada's system being on the verge of collapse is actual lies and propaganda so people will be afraid to demand the same system here.

8. The problem I have with France is there system is employer based. I'm getting to the |
|
point that I think we should put 6 or 7 of the so called top single payer systems into a hat, pull one out and go for it :)

7. Canada spends 50% per capita what we do on health care |
|
and they are the second most expensive system in the world after the US.
Health Care is run by the provinces, and each province has it's own single payer system. They all have a comprehensive benefit package with some provinces offing more than others.
If they are running out of money, it isn't because there health care costs are excessive, at least in relationship to us.
