[Behind the Aegis]

An amendment to the California State Constitution has been filed. If passed, section 7.5 of the state Constitution would be amended as follows:

The text: Only marriage between a man and a woman is valid or recognized in California.

would be replaced with

Marriage is between only two persons and shall not be restricted on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, gender, sexual orientation, or religion.
