Here's the skinny on how the RNC is going to destroy Palin in 2011 |
|
I've mentioned in the past about having a friend/associate who goes to RNC (Republican National Committee) meetings every now and then in DC, CA and Chicago.
He's a moderate but has a skill at helping Republicans get their media training and talking points to survive elections and such. He has also shared the opinions of the RNC leadership when it comes to Sarah Palin.
She is a mistake.
There is plenty of evidence that the McCain campaign made a huge mistake with her as VP nominee. She in turn has shot back at them in her "book" and basically committed the mortal sin of what Republicans do if they want to continue as viable Republicans. She. Is. Toast.
So, in an amusing exchange a while back, my friend told me some of the essential stories that would traumatize and bash about the head with persistent force the political viability of Sarah Palin as a Republican or even a third-party candidate, which they fear the most in 2012.
She has slept with many Republicans along the campaign trail. She has an open marriage with Todd. She really doesn't know jackshit about major issues and would be an embarrassment if she was left to her own behavior. She has lots of skeletons in her closet in Alaska that make silly banter like the Clinton's "Whitewater" travails look miniscule.
By the middle of 2011 when Republican candidates (most of them governors who actually served their terms) start announcing that they are running for President, you can yell a big "You Betcha!" that the RNC will be leaking stories to obliterate the Palin camp from all angles and have unreleased documents and other media to supplement their efforts to utterly destroy her.
That is all this will happen if she dares to even consider announcing a run for the Presidency. Otherwise, she will be left to make money off suckers who believe her crap, get dirty money from Fox News and continue to sleep around with the RNC muckety mucks who don't mind sloppy seconds.
Maybe there are RNC condoms with the Elephant logo.

1. Well, one thing is obvious |
|
Sarah doesn't know jack shit about major issues. At least that's one thing that I agree with the RNC about.
Thing is Sarah has an amazing ability to play the victim to her advantage. This should be interesting if she does decide to run.

watch her being destroyed if the GOP establishment decides to do so. I'm wondering why the tabloid press hasn't gone after her. Surely the stories have to be out there  Maybe they are waiting for her to announce her candidacy before they tear her to shreds.

the party won't let you.
It will also be interesting with Limbaugh, Beck, and the other Palin sympathizers in the media. Internal dissention is inevitable.
And Palin seems to have a big enough ego to run third-party. That would be the death blow to Republican hopes for making Obama a one-term president.

Most who were the son of the bosses friend, or a friend of the boss, or some such thing. When I worked at Unisys, a couple transferred from managing the hardware division to managing the software division, of which they didn't know jack shit. But they had "seniority," so when their division went to Mexico, they waddled to the next building to ruin ours.
Palin is a dumbshit. Why don't you tell me how a dumbshit woman with no gov't experience gets to be Governor of Alaska?

The batshit insane who are her 20 - 30% hardcore followers won't be dissuaded. They only listen to their own rightwing outlets who will catapult the propaganda regarding their Sarah.... And she WILL have a cover story for the scams, affairs and other dirty shit she's pulled in Alaska.
But Trig? Trig is the holy child, the blessed being that Sarah has used as her very own powerful totemic symbol of all that she is: mother, pro-life, conservative, religious, etc. etc. If it turns out that whole thing is a fake, that Trig really is someone else's and that Sarah faked that pregnancy? Now THAT would bring her house tumbling down and (imho) send her back to AK forever.

|
Edited on Sat Feb-13-10 09:03 PM by burning rain
And that magazine has been notably tepid on Palin (ditto The Washington Moony Times). They endorsed Romney in 2008, by the way. They, like the GOP big money that keeps them afloat, want a sober business-oriented candidate who keeps the social conservatives content and voting the right way, not a loose cannon like Palin with her moments of alarming populism like whacking Wall Street, and her having presided over, and praised, Alaska's frankly socialistic public ownership of energy resources.

I don't believe there is anything unknown about Sarah. There is absolutely no point in hiding a juicy story. Maybe something will turn up, but no one is sitting on anything that could bring her down now. Also, the recent palm pilot story proves that it will take something nuclear to take Sarah down. Her fan base is too smitten and will forgive her for murder. Trig isn't hers? That just makes her more compassionate in claiming he is. Actual crimes? Political attacks, you mean. Sex? Can teabaggers get any harder-on? No, I can't think of a thing that will turn her supporters away.

I STILL remember back in 1977 when the Sunday Morning Gassbags laughed off Reagan. And the press, especially the New York Times and Washington Post (back when they were still newspapers) led the press laughing Reagan off.
They are doing the same thing to Palin now that they did to Reagan then. And she is following Reagan's playbook to the last letter.
DO NOT LET HER GET AWAY WITH IT AGAIN!

|
If by now you are still a Palin supporter - there is NOTHING that can be said about the woman that is negative that you will believe. You've gotten to this point on your delusion. You believe anything she says, even if there is a bucket of proof to the contrary.
So, what this means is that the RNC can "unleash" story after story about how Palin slept with this guy or that guy, and Palin just says back "Those mean GOPers are after me.. they don't like my folksyness and they're making it up".. and her followers believe her. And they get more mad at the GOP for saying it in the first place.
Half of the GOP loves Palin. Half hate her. If she wins, the GOP is screwed.. because Independents don't like her. If she loses, she possibly runs as an Independant - and she takes her Tea-Baggers with her. Not nearly enough to win, but plenty enough to spite the GOP and take a big enough chunk to make sure that whoever is running can't beat Obama.
The likelyhood of Palin running as an Independant isn't huge. Many here thought (and were hoping) that Hillary would do the same thing and split the DNC. Didn't happen... but Clinton is far more sane then Palin - so there is always the hope!

45. Head honchos think they can thwart her |
|
But if teabaggers become a majority of the delegates in enough states, that may be enough to make it dangerous to do so. Easing her out then may lead to a split in the Republican Party wide enough for Obama to get a second term.
What's worse is that there's nobody with even close enough charisma to keep them on the reservation if Palin is thwarted. They won't line up dutifully behind Romney or any of the usual suspects, who will be trying to please both an increasingly rabid right and at the same time not scare away moderates. Buchanan-Bush awaits the GOP in 2012.
And anyone who moves far enough right to gain the teabaggers will scare away moderates who want good government, good, sane government.

They will put her out there, let her look ridiculous. She'll be the target of all the scorn directed at Republicans for their regressive ideas and obstructionist tactics. Then, in 2011 they'll take her down and put a RWer in her place who will look "reasonable" by comparison.

57. yeah that part doesn't quite add up. they don't need it to bring her down anyway |
|
she already provides well more than enough to bring down her future.
i'm not convinced she wants to run. she's a whore. she's in it for the money. she quit for the big money that she could get if she acted NOW.

63. Plausible. The GOP is terrified of Palin. |

The GOP created the Tea Baggers to help them attack the president but maintain some distance. But the tea baggers have gone independent and are planning for themselves now. They're challenging sitting Republicans for local and national offices. The GOP in places like Texas finds themselves flanked on the right by the tea baggers.
Sarah Palin represents the biggest threat to the GOP because she could lead the tea baggers into a third party presidential run like Ross Perot did, or others before him. A third party run from the right would potentially cost the GOP many seats and any chance of the presidency.
The GOP has to take her down by mid 2011.

66. Palin knows that everything that is printed here is true. |
|
That's why she is cashing in right now. Make as much cash as she can on her noteriety and the fame she has in the circle of dupes and then when the bombs start falling she will blame the Main Stream Media and crawl back to Alaska to count her money.

67. If she makes it to the New Hampshire primary, I'll switch over to vote for her. |
|
If enough Dems do that, we can ruin any Republican plans for a non-Palin nominee.
