Didn't have time for these last night, but there are some lovely shots here... http://www.globalsecuritynewswire.org/gsn/nw_20100518_9044.php">Obama Promises to Back South Korean Response to Ship SinkingSouth Korea's President Lee Myung-bak talks on a phone with US President Barack Obama at the presidential Blue House in Seoul May 18, 2010. The investigation into the sinking of a South Korean warship in March was among issues U.S. President Barack Obama and South Korea President Lee Myung-bak discussed in a telephone call, the White House said in a statement.

WASHINGTON - MAY 18: U.S. Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Admiral Michael Mullen's hat is stowed underneath a chair before he testifies before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee about the new START (Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty) treaty on Capitol Hill May 18, 2010 in Washington, DC. President Barack Obama and Russian President Dmitri Medvedev signed the new arms reduction treaty in April. The treaty, which says the two countries must cut back to no more than 800 total launchers and slash their weapons stores by 30 percent, must be approved by the Senate.

I have been noticing that lately.
Maybe losing and the consequent, President Obama, have been better for her than she expected.

3. LOVE these photos - especially the last two! AND the ones of Hillary! |
|
Damn she has more gravitas in her pinkie finger cuticle than sarah palin has in her entire family tree.
I'll match Hillary Clinton against sarah palin ANY day. ANY day!!! It just makes me exultant even to think about the comparison, and how shabby the opposition stacks up against what we've got.
WE have Barack Obama. The best they can do is michael steele.
WE have Hillary Clinton. They went out and found sarah palin and are naive enough to think there's parity here.
WE even have Joe Sestak - who was so noble and gracious to his vanquished opponent last night. They have that jerk rand paul - who wouldn't even take his opponent's call to concede and congratulate. What a frickin' weasel! Anybody with class knows you should be gracious and elegant and classy in your victory, and you don't snub your opponent. You Take His Call forcryingoutloud!!! And if you're "in transit," you have your fucking CELL PHONE handy, or some aide with a cell who can put you on to take the call. Really small-time! And what a piss-ant "excuse"! I guess that's what we've come to expect from the teabaggers.
HAH!!!!
And they have the gall and the arrogance to think they're even fit to stand on the same stage with the Dems, much less assume they can "govern" better.

I said it about the bush crowd and I'll say it about this one, too.
Fuckers.

to have President Obama speak to a manufacturer for the Oil and Gas industry while the Gulf of Mexico is under assault? I mean, this would have been the perfect opportunity to promote alternative energy--to announce massive funding for solar or wind or highlight manufacturing jobs for those sectors. But Oil and Gas?
Nice pictures, but horrible messaging.

14. If you don't mind me posting it here, I saw this fantastic photo on the White House flickr. |
|
It's probably my favourite photo of Obama I've ever seen. Hell, if this was a painting it could be his official portrait.

Lots of good photos uploaded recently to the Flickr stream. I usually try to do those on Sunday because it's a slow news day, but if anyone doesn't want to wait... http://www.flickr.com/photos/whitehouse/
