Who is the big winner from the Cain and Perry meltdowns this week? I say Obama. |

It seems as if it would be Romney, but I am thinking that at some point the shitstorm that is the Republican nomination process taints the eventual nominee as well. After all, if it is Romney, exactly who did he beat to get there? Not only that, but the disappointed Cain and Perry supporters do not automatically embrace Romney. In general, this has to have some souring effect on the Republican side. Obama looks better and better as the circus that is the Republican nomination process lurches toward the primaries.

Charlie Pierce: It's becoming a bit clearer that the Republican primary process may consist of lashing the party's entire base to a chair and forcing them all to listen to Mitt Romney long enough for the Stockholm Syndrome to take over. http://www.esquire.com/blogs/politics/herman-cain-sexua...
