This seems to be at issue and I'm wondering how the rest of the board feels about this.

Both support the 99% It's the right (and Republicans) that supports and fights for the 1% against the 99%.

| 18. But here's the catch (and I'm sure the reason Kitten posted this poll) |
|
You will find many who support OWS but not President Obama. For these people, OWS exists BECAUSE of President Obama. Their vision is so short and narrow, they will deliberately misinterpret, minimize and misstate a movement of people all over the world in an effort to try and slam this president.
There is one person who runs around DU constantly stating as "fact" that OWS sprung into existence because "Obama is so ineffective." When I asked this person if people participating in Occupy Zurich and other countries were also protesting Obama, they had no comment.
The president's strongest supporters are out there occupying. The president and many other prominent Democrats have VOICED SUPPORT of this movement. But in some people's heads, it is somehow IMPOSSIBLE to support both Obama and Occupy. It's hard not to be dismissive of people that are so politically and culturally ignorant, but it is damn tempting.

OWS exists because governments worldwide are corrupt and unresponsive, to a criminal degree. The set of institutions behind this corruption are multinational corporations. Either you support them ruling the world, or you support the rest of the world taking power away from them, using as much force as is necessary.
Obama seemed to think that he could reform this machine from the inside, and like everyone else that's tried that, he found that the machine changed him much more than he changed it.

From my perspective, killing from a distance is as old as the spear, and bow, and sling, so I don't exactly have anything intelligent to say about it that I think would impact or interest the goals of #Occupy.
So, to that end, let me ask you, what do you think the connection is?
Regardless of the 99%/drones connection, what bothers you about drones, and does it also apply to guided missiles, artillery, or what?
What makes "drone warfare" different than "warfare" in general? I can see the connection between 99% being asked to pay for wars to benefit the 1%, but I'm trying to understand what makes drone warfare any different than any other kind of warfare.

The majority of what OWS wants is already in the Democratic Party's platform. Obama is a Democrat. Obama supports the Democratic platform.
So, it makes sense that Democrats would be supporting both President Obama and OWS ;)

I know it's fun to say, but the president has to work within the system as set out by the constitution. As far as I know, he's done that. He's no Kucinich, Grayson, or Sanders, because firstly he was able to get elected to the highest office in the land. The "Democratic" Party had a chance to nominate Kooch, and guess what happened? Doesn't that say that the issue isn't President Obama, but you?

I will NOT SUPPORT OWS...because it is TOTALLY AGAINST "President Obama's Policies."
Anyone who supports this stupid, fucking OWS is AGAINST OBAMA and AGAINST AMERICA...they should be "Tarred and Feathered" (in our old American Tradition against DISSENTERS who are against AMERICAN IDEALS) and therefore, OWS is just a sham...by the CIA to FUCK UP American Voters Minds. It's a RW, BILDERBERGER CONSPIRACY!
Anyone who supports this "fake OWS Movement" should be sent to GITMO... It's a stupid fuck up, thing by CIA and the Rockefellers and "One World Society" movement.

Occupy!
There are so many people and groups trying to co-opt OWS it's interesting to watch: Here's the leader! OWS doesn't need a leader! Here's a list of demands! OWS doesn't need a list of demands! What's the message? You mean you don't know the message? It's organic, it's astroturf, it's whatever you want it to be!
When has there ever been this much handwringing about the leadership, affiliation or point of a protest, especially about the individual protesters?
Should the protesters take a loyalty oath?
Pick a prominent politician and you can bet that someone out there protesting supports him/her.
