Anyone watching Morning Joe? Joe in extremely strong terms called Newt a very bad man

He spoke of how he can not support hi because he thinks he is dangerous to the country, the Republican party, and conservatism. He spoke of how he demonizes anyone in his way, mentioning that he called Sebellius, "a nice lady", a Stalinist. He then mentioned that Coburn has said similar things.

I seriously do not recall anyone who was a politician ever speaking a potential nominee of their own possible nominee in these words. There were Democrats, who never held office, who became PUMAs. The Zell Millers and Ed Koches in 2004 disagreed on policy, not character. This is coming from people who were in his party and with him in the House.

In this way he is very similar to Romney who also doesn't boast close friends with the Republican elite.

14. Let's be clear about Scarboro's role here ...

he has done his deranged, about ready to smash someone's head off the table rage thing on EVERY ONE of the candidates who have peaked above Romney.

Did against Perry, did it against Cain ... Was not as visibly angry, but he did all he could to tear down Bachman.

Joe's "role" is as the even handed R, and his job is to shepard the herd toward Romney.

I saw it and trust me; it’s hard to watch Morning Joe, because he never shuts-up long enough to allow anyone else to talk. But in this case, he knows more about Newt than anyone at the table.

the GOP establishment is out for Newt because they believe he can't win and Romney was their annointed one. The MSM will soon be doing the same because their plan is for Romney too.

15. I don't think so for several reasons

The main being he left in disgrace with ethics transgressions, the discovery that as he spoke against Bill Clinton, he was in a six year long affair with the woman he is now married to and, perhaps most importantly, he was seen as having over reached when he led the effort to impeach Clinton, which was then seen as very negative for the Republicans.

Think back to 1999 and 2000. Al Gore picked Joe Lieberman, rather than someone like John Kerry, because of Lieberman's status as the opposite of Bill Clinton's anything goes. This was seen as necessary for Gore - in spite of the fact that Gore was chosen by Clinton for his clean, eagle scout background. Bush, a mean drunk until 40, was able to use the Christian theme of the prodigal son to speak of being reborn and to run on bringing back honor and decency to the White House.

In that context, Gingrich, who divorced his second wife in 2000 and married his paramour. There was NO way he was viable at that moment.
