Romney claims he wants to keep his tax returns private because of donations to the Mormon church. |
|
I call bullshit.
I think he is trying to use religion as a shield because that rouses his base and makes repeated calls for the returns somewhat radioactive politically.
Now, it may be that he has donated to specific groups formed by the Mormon Church and its supporters that, say, fight against gay marriage and what is left of women's reproductive rights. But I don't think even that is the reason.
By the way, if Romney has to guilty of either (a) lying to American public by lying to the SEC or (b)lying to the American public in his campaign, why isn't the D of J at least investigating the possible federal crime of lying to the SEC?
Doesn't the American public deserve at least that much for its tax dollars, to know whether they may be on the verge of electing a felon as their President?
Isn't that a little more important, really, than, after the fact, prosecuting John Edwards because, in essence, Bunny Mellon doted on him?

He didn't pay anything in taxes for 10 years. I believe Harry Reid.

2. I think he's just using his church as an excuse... |
|
He probably did hand them over a fair amount.
I believe it has more to do with his stock earnings. While the peons were losing their shirts, he was raking in mega profits.
Sniff, sniff...I smell insider trading, and the stench of certain Repubs/Dems helping him cover it up.
