The new right wing meme: "I don't think we are seeing the real Romney." |
|
I heard that last night and this morning from the Republican pundits and strategists on MSBNC over and over and over.
What we ARE seeing is so inappropriate and undesirable that I must grudgingly admire this new strategy.
Pay no attention to the man you see behind the curtain. He's not the real Romney. Disregard everything you see and hear from him, and listen only to the sound of my voice: The real Romney is a really good person who cares about every human being, espeically all you exceptional Americans.
Romney did not mean to insult seniors, many of whom do not pay either income taxes or payroll taxes and most of whom vote Republican. So ignore what he said about and vote Romney Ryan 2012. Hey, you want those Ryan Medicare vouchers, don't you?
Romney also did not mean to insult all you rich folk who don't pay taxes. You just KNOW he was not trying to fault you and your fellow richies for not paying taxes, don't you? He's one of you.
Romney did meant to exclude all you working people who pay payroll taxes, but get paid so little for your efforts that you owe no taxes, despite working a job or two or three. Of course, he did not mean you.
Trust me. You are not seeing the real Romney. The real Romney is running an organized campaign, gets the facts before he opens his mouth, puts his foot in it, then doubles down. The real Romney really knows how to talk when he is abroad.
Trust me. The real Romney--the one NO ONE has seen yet--shall make a great President.
Why, you've heard of the Emperor's new clothes, right? No one could see them. The emperor looked naked, but everyone agreed how beautiful the emperor's new clothes were--great quality materials, wonderful workmanship and so on.
Well, it's like that with Romney. He's perfect in every way, and only the very smartest of voters can see that, despite the evidence of their own eyes and ears since 1994.
The Emperor's New Presidential Candidate 2012!

1. I'm sure we've all heard some variation of this bit of folk wisdom: |
|
"When someone messes up and shows you who he really is, believe him."
Yeah, I think we're seeing the real Romney.

2. Some of the comments on you tube are incredible. |

I'm not sure where Romney stands but his Republican followers think the very worst of their fellow Americans--all lazy non-tax paying 47% of us.

3. Romney did not say "taxes." He said "income taxes." That shows he |

recognizes that people pay payroll taxes.
No taxes at all is a much lower percentage--15%, I think--and mostly seniors, who retire after a lifetime of work and paying taxes. And most seniors vote Republican. Perhaps not this time though, after that remark.
IOW, once again, Romney was being deliberately deceptive, and with his foot in his mouth to boot. (no shoe-boot pun intended).
So many dog whistles for a guy who abused his kids' dog.
