This is per the poll quoted by Politico, which confirms my friend's statement that Democrats told Warren to re-form her campaign ads.

Both candidates have gone negative now and I suspect that, under his "I'm just a nice guy" veneer, Brown is loads more cutthroat than Ms. Warren. And I know local news has always been behind him.

I don't believe for two minutes that Massachusetts will vote for Warren because Romney has proven himself to be a disaster.

So, keep your fingers crossed for Senator-elect Warren.

1. Today's poll shows Brown ahead by five points.

One of the times when I hate it that my crystal ball gazing was 20-20.

I think she can still pull it out, but she needs better campaign advice.

For example, his ads tout his bipartisan votes and his independence. In a state as blue as Massachusetts, he would have to say he votes with Democrats sometimes; and the RNC and his donors and his caucus know that and support him in it.

However, he voted with Democrats exactly one time when his vote made the difference, and that was on Dodd-Frank, which was essentially his opponent's brainchild.

Besides, if you've been a Republican state senatorn in a very blue state, ran for U.S. Senator in a blue state on the Republican ticket and are registered to vote in a blue state as a Republican, you just may be a Republican lying about being an independent because, well, you are in a very blue state.

Not one of her ads has pointed out any of the above.

3. Hush now. Don't you remember the brouhaha on DU when Obama did not

nominate her to administer Dodd Frank?

When it was announced that she decided to run as a total political novice for this very important Senate seat after talking to various Democrats-the seat that might make the difference between a Democratic Senate majority and a Republican Senate majority, the meme was:

"See? Obama had something in mind for her that was even bigger and better than an office for which she was tailor made and for which she would not have to run. He passed her over because he wanted her to be Senator!"

If the Democrats hold the Senate, it may be only because Akins put his foot in the vagina of every sane woman in the nation. Or because Massachusetts votes for Warren despite her faulty campaign.
