Syria: Internet, airport access, some telephone connectivity gone; flights suspended. |
|
The rebels blame the government for shutting down the internet; the Assad regime blames terrorist.
If there is ever an American spring, don't count on using social media, as did the Egyptians last year.
IMO, our government, Republican or Democrat, would cut off the Internet a lot faster than has happened in Syria. There is after all, a difference between a hereditary dictator and a democratically elected head of state with a mandate and political cap-uh-tull. And, while we have all but abolished the rule of law, for politicians, anyway, we still put a high premium on "law and order."
Me, I'm asking Santa for body armor this year.
I used to have a link to a website that supposedly told what to do if government shuts down the internet, but I lost it when my prior laptop died.
If anyone has it, please post.

1. Body armor sounds like a good idea. |

Gas masks too. Maybe ear plugs for the sonic weapons the government has prepared for instances of civil disobedience.

2. Ah, but it's no longer civil disobedience. Now, it's domestic terrorism. |
