Understatement of the day |

When the future of the nation rests in the hands of people who are 70 to 80 years old and jet lagged, it's not good.
I guess this could be considered an ageist statement, but I think there is a physical reality to being 80-ish, jet lagged or not.
And, coming off a 4 to 8 hour flight, with concomitant time change(s) can be a problem if you're only 25, especially since D.C. is on the east coast, which has the earliest reveille in the nation.
I know they have not exactly lived hard lives, but still.
By the way, is our eldest Senator really only 80? Did we get weakling Senators after Strom, retiring that much before the century mark? Tsk, tsk.

1. There certainly is a physical reality to being 80-ish. |

But if this younger crop of right wing congressmen are any example of the future I hope we can keep the old guys on for a while.
Today C-Span's Washington Journal is more completely full of shit than usual. I think the network exists for the purpose of propaganda anyway.
Happy New Year!
