No matter what you knew or did not know, Chris, you hired Wildstein and the rest of the clowns--and on the dime of the public to boot. So, the more you try to discredit their honesty and integrity now, the more you prove that you were never fit to run New Jersey, let alone the nation. *
Hiring the right people for a job is one of the most important skills of a chief executive, be it the chief executive of a corporation or of a city, state or the nation. So is noticing when they cease to be the right people for the job. So is taking responsiblity for the kind of shop you head, beyond your very lame and not very credible "what I did to make them feel it was okay to lie to me."
In fairness, you are not the only one who suffers from these failures. Still, that doesn't make you any less unfit for office--any office.
Step down.

2. That's the thing. It won't break anyone's heart. |

Christie was, IMO, largely a creature of the media, which pumped him up from Day One. However, he was brutish and thuggish. Blasting retired school teachers because they expected to receive the pensions they had been promised? Really?
