Vinyl flooring

Any suggestions on what kind of cleanser is appropriate on it? I don't want to dry it out. Something you put in a pail and mop it with . . .

2. Can you dry out vinyl flooring?

I guess you could wear down the clear scratch coating prematurely, or make it yellow.

Murphy's is a good, gentle cleaner for almost anything. I am also very partial the old fashioned Spic-N-Span powdered detergent/cleaner that comes in the box, but it's kind of hard to find these days (this might be a local brand here in the Great Lakes anyway?).

3. Spic-N-Span is everywhere. I love it, but don't think it should be used

on vinyl flooring. It is too strong to be used on it.

4. Is this new vinyl flooring, or is it old?

It makes a difference as to what to use on it. New vinyl flooring, use mild detergents like dish washing liquid or Murphy's Oil Soap because you don't want to ruin the finish. But if the finish is already gone and it just will not clean up anymore, use whatever you want to use. Mine is old and has no finish, so I use Spic-N-Span so it will look clean again.

6. I just use water

on my Mannington stuff that's been there for 2-3 years. But then housecleaning is not my strong point. Looks good, though.

7. Mrs. Meyers All-Purpose Cleaner is fantastic stuff!

It's made of natural ingredients, leaves a great shine, smells wonderful, and is gentle on the hands.

8. Target also now carrys a line of Caldrea products

It's by the housewares. Very spendy but a little goes a long long way and it smells divine!

Mix the All purpose cleaner with water and keep in spray bottles for quick wipes on surfaces.

9. a coworker uses just

vinegar and water. She uses it on everything, except for hardwood.

She said if you dilute it the vinegar is gentle, works well, and is cheap.

10. Water with a teensy weensy bit of dish detergent in it.

11. simple green seems to always work for me. :)
