JERUSALEM (AP) - Russian President Vladimir Putin said Thursday that Iran must accept international monitoring of its nuclear activities.
Putin spoke after a meeting with his Israeli counterpart, Moshe Katsav. Israel has criticized Russia's support for Iran's nuclear program. However, Putin insisted Thursday that Russia was only helping Iran develop nuclear energy for peaceful use. At the same time, Iran must allow international monitors to examine its nuclear program, he said.
