http://www.cnn.com/2003/ALLPOLITICS/10/08/leak.main/WASHINGTON (CNN) -- The FBI is expected to conduct the first interviews with White House officials concerning the leak of the identity of a CIA operative late Wednesday or Thursday, according to government sources.
The sources would not say who might be interviewed first or how many interviews would be conducted.
Sources told CNN on Wednesday that several "nongovernment" people have already been interviewed by the FBI as part of the probe.
Some officials think it is very unlikely that the FBI and career Justice Department prosecutors will be able find which officials leaked the identity of CIA operative Valerie Plame, who is former ambassador Joseph Wilson's wife, to columnist and CNN contributor Robert Novak.
