I think it's time to abandon that "bi-partisan" model as there are not enough non-nut GOP quality guys to be worth the bother. Someone sympathetic to the real military(unlike Rumsfeld) is the current antidote whether conservative or not. As Daschle and Bayh how much capital they got from trying to forge a coalition in the middle with moderate Republicans.

And McCain is no moderate, integrity or not. McClintock seemed to have integrity too, but his victory would also have been a horror show.
