hard-drives that would be dispositive. They might try to hack the WH e-mail system (and the taped data stored off the premises) after the fact, but I bet that would be about the most challenging hack one could possibly pull off.

In fact, any effort to modify or erase the e-mail exchanges within that system without leaving a detectable trace is hard to imagine. However, such an attempt would be quite good evidence of obstruction of justice.
