...if their employers could not deduct it. You seem to think that would be a good thing, that it would somehow "force" Congress to enact universal healthcare. Nothing could force Congress to do that. They won't touch it with a 10,000 foot pole after what happened last time. They certainly won't touch it as long as people like Senator Bill "Cat Killer" Frist are running the Senate. The for-profit health industry has too much power to allow that.
Taking away health insurance from workers will just drive people into bankruptcy when they get sick.
