to "pepper" your hunting mate.

I used to rabbit hunt with my dad and his friends when I was a young teen. We hunted every weekend during rabbit season. No one ever "peppered" anyone else when we all hunted together, and rabbit hunting is MUCH more dangerous than bird hunting.

That said, I'm also kinda perturbed with their use of the word "peppered" when they mean "shot."

Cheney SHOT Whittington. Period. "Peppered" may sound kinder, but the fact is that Cheney SHOT another human.
