57. Social Security is the only government program that is not in debt
In fact, we are paying in a huge surplus. That surplus is being paid in to take care of having so many baby boomers retiring in the future. Bushites are spending it as fast as we put it in. That surplus money they take is backed by US bonds. We even get interest on the money the government borrows.

The only problem Social Security has is the Bushites don't want to pay back the surplus when the time comes when it is needed. That is so unethical. Bush says our bonds are worthless pieces of paper. That is untrue. If they are worthless, then so are our 401k bonds. It is true they can't be sold on the open market, but that is to protect our surplus. The government can "borrow" the money to pay the bonds back. They do it for everything else.

They want to change the way the cost of living is figured at a time when the buying power of the dollar is down 60% and promising to go down more.
