They bitch and bitch and bitch about what a "liberal" McCain is, what a "maverick" McCain is, and then they turn around and vote for him in primary after primary, even in closed primaries that shouldn't be able to be hijacked by whatever liberal or independent is dumb enough to fall for McCain's schtick.
Yes, we all know McCain really is a pretty conservative guy, he's just not as robotic as all the rest of them. Yet, if he's so despised by the right, why are they going to make him their nominee, while guys who they should fall over each other to vote for, like Huckabee, Hunter and the late, lamented Brownback, go nowhere.
In Huckabee's case, I'm assuming that the evangelical right is showing its true colors by really caring far more about taxes than any of their pet social causes, but what about the rest of the knuckle-draggers?
In short, I can't believe the GOP is going to crown McCain, someone who, as we've been told time and time again, is the devil in Republican's clothing.
