Disgusting, isn't it?

Reminds me of a case of child abuse I witnessed once a long time ago. A little boy misbehaved, so his grandma put him on a stool in front of the TV with cartoons on and ordered him not to look at it. Obviously he couldn't avoid peeking periodically, but every time he looked, she'd slap him.

Our "food service industry" does something very similar with its constant promotion of junk foods. Doctors say avoid the HFCS, refined starches, unhealthy fats, chemical additives, etc, but everything in our environment screams "eat this, it tastes so good!" Then, instead of slaps from grandma, we're punished with diabetes, coronary artery disease, and other related, life-destroying illnesses.

Next, the "health care industry" steps in to rob people blind with treatments and drugs they "need" to fix one problem at a time while causing yet others. And then people say, "it's their own fault for not taking responsiblity for their own health."

If that's not criminal abuse, I don't know what is.
