10. Can anybody say 'Waco'? I knew you could...
I'm hearing on NPR this morning the preparation of Murican public opinion for more horrors from Iraq by having even more conservative commentators than usual (they sure get lots of help from the Heritage Foundation) and 'news' stories about troops coming home who support the war and Iraqi insurgents misbehaving by 'breaking the ceasefire' in Fallujah where US troops just massacred hundreds of women and children.

Is NPR getting their budget cut again? They sure are towing the maladministration's line diligently.

Yesterday NPR had two conservative economists discussing the idea of American empire in glowing terms as bringing prosperity to the underdevoloped world just as the British did. One of them was a 'Henry Kissenger' fellow at I-forget-which school.

Perfect. A fellowship named after a war criminal who disdains democracy. And neither of them said the words 'white man's burden.'

This morning they had a Bush* apologist from an organization that is used to destabilize countries which don't embrace WTO and IMF corporateering called the Center for Democracy. The apologist said that 9/11 could never have been prevented and that permanent war and invading countries were the best way to spread freedom. Naturally, Kissinger is on their board along with prominent Republicans and CEOs of major defense contractors and mining companies.

Fucking NPR.
