4. "Marriage" as defined by current laws
is limited to a religious viewpoint, as all the arguments against same-sex marriages have proven.

The government should keep its nose out of religious dogma and stick with the facts. It is not the government's place to condone or condemn marriages. It should recognize all civil unions provided they cause no injury (as would, say, a union between close relatives or an adult and a minor).

If churches wish to not recognize certain marriages or perform certain rites, it is their right. However, my personal opinion is that it the bigotry displayed by such churches magnifies their ignorance. Who wants to belong to an ignorant church?
