In his book he talks of so many that got frustrated and left. I know they still care about how to keep our country safe, but it sure does seem like a waste of a good talent to not use it to its full capacity--like he had been while working in Clinton's administration.

I found myself getting so mad, especially towards the end when he talked about how Wolfowitz and Rumsfield were so "flippant" about bin laden, almost as if they were being caddy about it.

I also see now why Dick Cheney says Clarke was "out of the loop." The "loop" being Rumsfield, Wolfowitz, Rice, and the other "vulcans." Clarke had moved foward after all those years and they still were fighting an old war, but with a new motive. It all comes together now and the pieces fall right into place.

Now that the Bush administration refuses to hand over the information the 9/11 committee wants from the Clinton years, it should be no doubt that Clarke is indeed telling the truth--but then reading Clarke's book you know he couldn't be making up this stuff. It's just too clear and precise.
