is that these guys know more about what happened and what might come out than we do, no matter what our conjectures are. There may be something brewing which is unstoppable (Plame, questions for Rice, who knows?) - imagine how Nixon would have looked just prior to Alexander Butterfield going on TV that afternoon. Not great.

No question there are things emerging which have them terrified; things which we may have absolutely no idea of - do recall Bush Sr.'s look the night of the election - if you want to call it that - he was paralyzed with fear. Not that they'd lose, but that they may have bitten off more than they could chew. Who knows what might have come to light if Gore had been declared the winner and election fraud were pursued at the Federal level?
