NOW last night and a woman (forgot the name) who is a religious scholar was discussing religion (of course!). Said something to the effect of God being so far above humans in his thoughts that mere human's couldn't begin to understand God and that to imagine one "knew" what God thought was stupid. Many of these fundies believe they "know" God's mind and that does show a certain amount of arrogance and misconception, doesn't it?
They might argue with you that they don't feel they know God's mind, but they'll turn around and tell you who God hates. How do they know? Even if it could be proven that God did hate someone 2000 years ago, he could have changed his mind, unless they presume that God is rigid, unchanging, and downright mean.
