My late father served in World War II...among his artifacts was a Jewish prayer book with a special prayer right in the front cover for President Roosevelt and his cabinet.
This isn't the first time I've read stories of over-zealous military types who include * name as part of their prayers and services. I see it more like pushing for an oath of allegience that bugs me. There's still this push in the military to legitimize the boychild with that infamous "things are better now than they were under that gay-loving, draft-dodging, dope-smoking, womanizing Clinton. The more I see it, the more it shows me the "hearts and minds" of our young men and women are being lost, not won.
We definitely need to get a reign on both the mercenaries/"contractors" and mercenaries/missionaries that are running amok throughout Iraq. How'd Mr. Holier-Than-Thou like to have a mullah come up to his front door and start telling him how the god he's worshiped...and that of his family for centuries was the wrong god. Damn if it isn't the same god, just a different connection. Would Mr. Freeper welcome the Ayatollah in his house? Bets are he'd pull out his illegal handgun (and drop gun, too).
These religious nuts are creating such animosity in the Arab world that is boiling and ready to explode across the Arab world. Not only do these people represent the worst of America, they make easy hostages and targets...pissing off the regime who responds with more firepower that will result in more of our kids being sent into this snakepit...and for what???
