Career guys WHO HAVE SEEN IT, telling it like they know it to be get my vote any day of the week. I sported an I LIKE IKE button even though I was too young to vote. Don't get your knickers in a bunch, gsh999.
We agree about politicians and avaricious-ruling-class types.

Where I offend your sensibilities is in my overt contempt for the "ROLES" the U.S. military has been cast in for the half century I been running around. The American CITIZEN is ultimately responsible. Unfortunately the American citizen is WOEFULLY UNAWARE of the MANY UNSAVORY ROLES its military has played. What's worse is the APATHY and "We're the GOOD GUYS" jingoism.

The "civilian authority" has not been answering to the American citizen AT ALL for a few years now and has made a HUGE MESS.

The U.S. gub'mint just overthrew the Hatian administration, for goodness' sake. Barely blipped. If that doesn't speak to your collective commitment to democracy, I can only conclude that there's a lot of dead brains in the land of my birth...
