I would be very concerned but I would examine what he did based on what he believed god was telling him to do. If he believed god was telling him to promote belief in him at the expense of mine or other's rights I would drop him like a hot potato. If his conversations with god lead him to take actions that I found dangerous I would turn away from him.

I am a Democrat. I am an atheist. Most of the people around me believe in god. Many believe they talk to god. What makes them dangerous is not talking to god. It is what their own mind in the guise of god tells them to do. As a Democratic Atheist I sometimes vote for theists (actually I usually vote for theists as my choices are limited in this nation). I believe they have flawed systems of belief just as they believe I am mistaken. But I expect them to respect me with my beliefs as I respect them with their beliefs. If their beliefs lead them to honorable actions I can work with them. If not then I will oppose them.
