26. Thanks. It's hard.
I just had an appointment with my neurosurgeon, who recommended surgery. I expected as much, but he is making it sound like there is a fairly high risk I will lose my ability to sing if I have the surgery. His assistant says otherwise. They promise to get back to me. He's never operated on a singer before.

He says there's an 80% chance of alleviating the pain. I've done the odds. I hate the pain. I hate the idea of losing something I've worked on for years.

Why can't life be easy for just a little while...please?
