Dear Senator Akaka, As a representative of the people of one of our most beautiful states, I hope that you can understand the great potential for disaster that the opening of ANWR to oil and gas exploration represents. There is absolutely NO reason to risk destroying the pristine beauty of one of our last unspoiled national treasures. I am sure that you are aware that once this barrier is overcome, ALL other National Parks including those in your beautiful state are in jeopardy. Please help your fellow Americans take a stand against this misguided policy of the Bush Administration. The national treasure that you save may be your own backyard! Sincerely,
