37. Agreed, I was just looking there and was about to comment....
when I saw your post.

I wish that the slide show had included photos that weren't so stereotypical of what folks in the heartland see the anti-war movement as looking like. Not that the stereotype is bad, it's just that it keeps the protests at more of a remove from regular folks than it should.

Where were the photos of veterans?

Where were the photos of Mom, Dad, and the "girl next door"?

They were there too. And that's a big point of where the sentiment against Bush's war in Iraq stands. Regular people pissed off that lives are being recklessly spent in a war based on a lies.

There is diversity of opinion amongst those who are displeased in how Bushco got us into Iraq and how the war has been conducted. The anti-war movement is both widening and becoming more inclusive.

Part of the success of that comes when regular people learn that they are far from alone in their disappointment with Bushco. Part of the process is showing the regular people that people just like them are out there protesting.

I think the persons who chose these photos did so with a deliberate mindset geared towards not providing our side with more ammo than the inevitable minimum.

Hehehe, maybe I'm being hyper-critical. But there's an almost palpable aura about the media these days that indicates they are frightfully attuned to never giving the administration a really hard time.
