about the six year old kid who went to school and shot a classmate..His mom was on a welfare to work program. She was working two shifts to get ahead. She had to ride a bus hours to get to and from work. Most welfare recipients are only on two years. I was on for a while in the 80's after a bitter divorce, new baby and two toddlers. Got 50% of the cost of living from 10 years prior. About $300.00 for the 4 of us. Yet I was better off that putting them in childcare and making $7.50 an hour.
