In the 70s, there was a cause celebre about a Dr. Edelin who had performed an emergency c-section on a woman carrying a nonviable fetus. Right to lifers sued, saying that Edelin had not tried to keep the fetus alive outside the uterus. The fetus fetishists finally lost, but it dragged through the courts for what seemed like an eternity.

Yes, it can happen in Massachusetts. It has. It can happen anywhere one of these hysterics can find a sympathetic lawyer who wants to make a big name for himself.
