Great play by play:

....snip...

Tim Russert: Have we recovered from 9/11?

VP Dick Cheney: Of course, Tim, in many ways, yes -- 9/11 changed everything, we know we're vulnerable. We'll attack Dems by accusing them of wanting to go back to the days before 9/11.

Russert: You expect another terrorist attack.

Dick: We have to assume that. Keeps the public afraid. We maintain a facade of strength by taking a "law enforcement" response to our global enemy Al Qaeda, who want WMDs. .

Russert: SAMs can shoot down civilian airplanes. Should countermeasures be required on commercial passenger jets?

Dick: Cost-benefits analysis reality check, Tim: life is cheap. Fuhgedaboudit.

Russert: Is there a connection between Saddam and Osama?

Dick: I said no right after the attack, now I'm saying "I dunno." Have to tie Saddam to Osama using the thinnest of pretenses. Hey, Tim, didja know Saddam gave safe haven to a '93 WTC bomber? Better not mention that Osama called Saddam a bad Muslim!
